20 Minutes of Love: Cooking a Quick Meal to Nourish Bodies and Souls Before the Hustle

Tonight, before the whirlwind of the workday took over, I carved out a sacred 20 minutes to create a simple, yet satisfying dinner for my husband and me. In the midst of hectic schedules and demanding responsibilities, it’s easy to let meals become an afterthought. However, I firmly believe that even a brief pause to nourish ourselves with wholesome food can be a powerful act of self-care and connection. The menu was straightforward, yet comforting: spiral noodles tossed in a creamy marinara sauce, blended with cream cheese and chopped spinach, topped with crispy breaded chicken. Alongside, I steamed fresh green beans, seasoning them with garlic, onions, black pepper, and a touch of sea salt. It was a meal designed to fuel our bodies and warm our hearts.

More than just the food itself, it was the intention behind the preparation that mattered. Taking those few moments to thoughtfully create something for my husband and myself was a reminder to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and prioritize our well-being amidst the chaos. As we weren't going to be able to eat together, I could only hope this meal would warm my husband's heart as he was to spend the evening alone at home. These little moments of connection and nourishment are what sustain us and make the daily grind a little more bearable.

My husband did end up texting me at work to tell me that dinner was good.

Winning with love. 💓
